John J. O’Connell Architects is an RIAI accredited Conservation Practice Grade 1

The practice was established in 1978 by John J. O’Connell, a fellow of the Royal Institute of Architects Ireland since 1993.

The practice is run by John J O'Connell and Colin McCabe. John and Colin have worked together for over 15 years.

The practice has gained considerable experience in conservation within a wide range of building types including museums, commercial developments and high profile residences, with clients from both the public and private sectors.

The practice places a considered emphasis on both energy conservation and sustainability of materials. Through our work with museums, and other public buildings we have a high level of experience working with the most up to date lighting and environmental controls. We place particular care to ensure that these latest technologies are seamlessly integrated into both new build and historic buildings.
